What are Local Area Committees?

Local Area Committees (LACs) offer an opportunity for you to express your views, share your opinions on the council’s activities in your area, and contribute to improvements in your neighbourhood.

About North East Sheffield

The North East is made up of 4 wards:

The North East area of the city is home to 93,749 residents. This area has a diverse population, with people from various cultural backgrounds, languages, ethnicities, and religions. The North East also has several large green spaces and well-used parks, including Firth Park, Concord, Wolfe Road, and Abbeyfield, some of which feature historical landmarks.

Local shopping centers, such as Bellhouse Road in Firth Park, Spital Hill in Burngreave, and Kilner Way in Southey, are thriving hubs of activity, with many residents choosing to shop within their neighbourhoods.

The area includes large, well-established social housing estates, where residents have lived for many years, with generations of the same families continuing to call these neighborhoods home.
