Consultation has concluded
Thorpe Green Fields playground has been allocated some funding from Parks and Countryside’s Public Health budget. Waterthorpe Tenants and Residents Association (TARA) are also making a contribution to the project. We are keen to hear from all park users about how the park could better serve local people and benefit their mental and physical health. Currently the playground caters well for older children, but local people have told us there are a lack of play options for younger children so one option is to spend the monies on additional equipment aimed at toddlers and pre schoolers.

Here are the options that we think are important to local people, but we are also keen to hear wider views;
1. Safety surfacing: to improve the longevity of existing play equipment
2. New younger children's equipment: either one unit with different play points, or numerous stand alone items such as a slide, talk tubes, sensory trail or play panels (these are accessible for very small children and those with sensory or physical impairments)
3. Standard park items: such as a new bench next to the younger children's equipment
4. Other – please tell us anything else here
Why your views matter
Waterthorpe TARA are keen to hear the voices of local people about how they would like the park to be improved. We would especially like to hear from carers, or parents, of disabled children.
The closing date for this survey is 31st May 2023.
