Welcome to the home of Tenants Voices Matter, our tenant and leaseholder scrutiny group.

This group works with the Elected Members (local councillors) on the Council's Housing Policy Committee. Its aim is to ensure that the views of tenants and leaseholders are taken into account when important decisions are made which affect how our council housing services are delivered.

The 'Terms of Reference' for the group, which explain more about its role, are attached under the 'Documents' section below / to the right (depending on what device you are using to view this page). More information about the Housing Policy Committee and its role can be viewed here.

Before each Committee meeting, the council housing information and decisions to be discussed are shared here for TVM members to read and consider. The group then meets online (over Zoom) with the Committee Members to give their feedback and raise any concerns they may have. This meeting is called the "Tenant Voices Matter Pre-Decision meeting".

The Elected Members then take this feedback into consideration when making the decisions at their full Committee meeting.

Committee Papers

Information - reports, briefing papers, etc - for the next Housing Policy Committee are attached below / to the right under the 'Committee Papers' section. These are for you to read and consider at your leisure, at a time that suits you.

You can then discuss these with other group members in the Forum below - there is a separate Forum for each Committee meeting. This is a space for you to share your views, positive or negative, and read what other group members have to say.

Everyone's views matter and are equally important. We have just a few 'house rules' for the group, to make sure that all members feel respected, listened to and able to voice their opinions. Please see the House Rules in the 'Documents' section to the right / below.

Dates for the Housing Policy Committee meetings, and the corresponding Tenants Voices Matter Pre-Decision meetings, are shown below / to the right under the 'Key Dates' section.

Is this panel still going and when is next meeting

    Mick asked 9 days ago

Yes, this Panel is very much still going!  The Panel couldn't meet in June due to the restrictions on Council activities during the pre-election meeting.  The Housing Policy Committee then had no further meetings over the summer, but they are re-starting their meetings from this month.

We are therefore currently arranging the date for the next TVM panel, which hopefully will be confirmed in the next day or so.  Papers should then be made public at around the same time, and so we will send all details out to Panel Members as soon as we have all the necessary info.  That will hopefully be by the end of tomorrow (Wed 11th).

Thank you for your patience, and we'll be in touch in the next day or so
