Environment
This theme focuses on enhancing the environment to make it greener, cleaner, and safer for residents. Our approach involves collaborating with services, partners, and residents to identify areas within the North-East wards that require improvement and regeneration. We will implement pilot projects aimed at improving the street scene, supporting volunteers, and conducting educational and awareness campaigns on recycling, environmental sustainability, and public health.
Our priorities for this theme:
- To maintain a clean local environment
- To work together to promote responsible waste disposal and recycling
- To help people be more environmentally friendly and sustainable
- To tackle the environmental health issues across the area

Coming up:
The Land Project
The North-East LAC will be mapping out the pockets of land where there is fly-tipping and where housing land is being sold. We will work closely with Councillors and Council Officers, and will listen to residents' feedback to determine where the hot-spots are. Our work will help us put in place some long-term measures to prevent fly tipping from re-occurring in specific areas.
