This project aims to improve pockets of unkempt land and transform them into well-maintained gardens that can be accessed by all members of the community. The young people involved in our Environmental Stewardship Project, will clear the land with the support of Amey supervisors. The North-East LAC will fund the work in and members of the community will volunteer to maintain the land so that it can remain an enjoyable community garden.

  • Lytton Road

This unloved pocket of land is located at the end of Lytton road, near Buchanan road. The North-East LAC is transforming this into a lovely community garden with planters, wild flowers, fruit trees and an accessible path. The site was cleared by the Environmental Stewards as part of our Environmental Stewardship Program. Grass was planted, and a path was laid. A fence has been installed around the garden as well as a gate and a bin. A wonderful local resident called Malcolm made some planters which will soon be installed and filled with soil, ready for planting.
