Local Councils fund supported accommodation to help people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with support needs find a safe and stable place to live. This type of housing includes not just a roof over someone’s head, but also support services that help people rebuild their lives—such as help with budgeting, accessing healthcare, or finding work. By offering both housing and support, Councils aim to prevent repeat homelessness, promote independence, and ensure that public services are used effectively. This consultation invites your views on how supported accommodation could be funded to best meet the needs of our communities.
The Council funds a range of services to meet the needs of different groups of people and some of these are provided by organisations outside the Council. Every organisation funded hold contracts for a set duration. The contracts that end in 2026 are outlined below and we want to know what type of services you think we should fund in the future.
