Where do you want to live in the future?

Sheffield City Council is making a housing plan for adults who need support at home. We are calling this our Specialist Accommodation Plan.

This plan will be for housing for people who have disabilities or long term health conditions that may require accommodation and support to live independently. The answers to these questions will help us to write the plan.

We want to make sure everyone can find the right place to live, with the right support.

This could include:

  • Living in a house or flat owned by a social landlord (the Council or a housing association) with a team of carers. This is called supported living
  • Living in your own home, with your family or by yourself, with support
  • Living in a care home- where the care and support are provided by the same organisation

We already have a lot of accommodation for people who have long term health conditions and disabilities. However, we know that we will need more in the future. We will need different accommodation in the future.

We will use the information you give to work with housing organisations so that we have the right mix of homes for different people’s need in 5 years. We will also consider how to improve the information and advice that is available to you and your family.

This survey is anonymous. This means that we don’t ask for your name. We do ask for your postcode as this will help us to understand where people live now and where they may want to live in the future. We want to hear from people who are thinking about moving within the next 5 years.
