Tuesday 5 September, 7-8.30pm, on zoom - THIS SESSION HAS BEEN POSTPONED, PLEASE EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST TO RECEIVE THE NEW DATE

As a follow up to the Sheffield Adult Social Care Festival of Involvement, we are running an online repeat of our Festival launch workshop exploring how to make involvement better.

If you missed the session the first time round, this will be a great introduction for our upcoming citizens involvement project.

In our adult social care strategy we promise to work together with local people to shape and improve our services.

But what does good involvement and coproduction look like? Where are the opportunities and how can we do it better?

Join us for this workshop to explore these big questions.

About the workshop

This session has three parts.

Part 1: Setting the scene

We'll start with an introduction to the Citizens Involvement Project and some key involvement ideas.

Part 2: Breakout sessions
You will be invited to choose a breakout discussion to dig a little deeper.

Breakout A: introduction to different types of involvement - ideal for those new to the topic

Breakout B: reviewing our existing co-production charter - for those with some experience or knowledge of involvement approaches.

Part 3: Exploring the opportunities
We will then explore together where the opportunities for more and better involvement in adult social care might be.

All the ideas from this workshop will feed into our citizens involvement project this autumn to coproduce a new approach to involvement for adult social care.

Facilitators

The workshop will be run by South Yorkshire Housing Association (SYHA), who are working with us as our independent facilitator for the citizens involvement project.

Who can attend

This event is open to everyone in Sheffield including:

  • people receiving adult social care
  • those who may need support now or in the future
  • unpaid carers and family members of people receiving support
  • people working with local community members using or in need of support.

Access

If you need help to attend this event, we can provide access and support expenses for things like extra PA or carer cover time. Please tell us about the support you need when you book your place.

Express your interest

To receive details of the new workshop date, please contact Kate Damiral, email: kate.damiral@sheffield.gov.uk or call: 0114 273 4442 or 07733 308335.
