We are in the process of upgrading our Housing Services computer system, in order provide an improved digital customer service.


On Monday 3rd November, replaced our current system with a new website called My Housing. This website will be the new place to get housing information, check your rent account and pay your rent.

We apologise in advance if we take slightly longer to help you while we get used to the new system.

Will previous user information (including my details) be transferred to the new system?

If you have an active housing registration then your details will be transferred to the new system including registration details and Band and priority if you have a priority.

What steps should we take to resume bidding for properties?

Wait for a letter to people on the housing register due to be posted when we have your details set up in the new system.

The letter will include details on how to log into the new system with a unique code to view your details and start bidding if you were bidding before.

Bidding on properties will resume in November to give you time to review your details in the new system.

I am wanting to check my details for an annual review - what do I do?

You don't need to worry. Once you have received your letter you can log into the system and check your details then. We understand that you cannot complete your review at this time.

  • Will there be a separate housing application for Armed Service leavers?

    There won’t be a separate application but there will be a specific question on the application form asking if you’re an armed service leaver.

  • Will the new system make it quicker to complete the housing application form?

    It will be a lot easier to navigate and simpler to use and online training will be available – there is also the option to save progress and come back to the application later.

  • Will customers still have to update their details on an annual basis, and will the system make that easier?

    The request to update your circumstances on an annual basis is part of the overall allocations policy – so you will still have to update details on an annual basis, but the system should make it simpler.

  • Can exceptions be made for people who don’t have five years of address history?

    Individual circumstances will always be considered, and exceptions can be made when appropriate.

  • Will the new system speed up the processing of the housing application?

    No – the processing time will remain the same.

  • Will we engage with the Local Area Committees (LACs)?

    The Practice Team Service Manager from the project will attend the Local Area Committee Chairs group on the 17th September to brief them on the project and the outcome of conversations we have had so far with tenants and customers.

  • The order in which rent accounts is shown looks out of date order – can this be fixed?

    The website orders the rent accounts in order of the rent account number, so we will try to load the accounts in an order which is logical.   If we cannot make this happen we will make sure that this point is covered in our help documents to tenants and customers who use the website.
