With the start of the new year in January 2026, work started on the new pocket park at Spotswood. The park is designed to be a naturalistic greenspace with space for natural play. Work is expected to be completed in approximately 16 weeks, weather dependent.

Sheffield City Council, the University of Sheffield and E.ON are partnering on two practical projects to help make homes warmer and cheaper to run by 2027. This includes a "Living Lab" show home where residents can see energy-saving ideas in action. There will also be improvements to a small number of homes in Gleadless Valley with better insulation and more efficient heating.

Interested in getting involved? This could include attending meetings to learn more about the project and/or being part of the steering group. As the project progresses, we're keen to have resident involvement in decision making.
