Our Vision for the Valley Update

Our Vision for the Valley approved

We are pleased to share that Our Vision for the Valley was approved yesterday at the Council’s Strategy and Resources Committee. This is an important step forward for Gleadless Valley and reflects the work of residents, partners and the regeneration team. The Vision was presented by Matthew Nimmo, Head of Project Delivery for Estates Regeneration, Alexis Krachai, Independent Chair of the Gleadless Valley Regeneration Board, and by Matt Lawton and Lara Joyce from the Gleadless Valley Tenants and Residents Association.

Lara said, "This is an exciting moment for the Valley and shows a commitment to the people who live here. The TARA are looking forward to keeping the community involved in decisions and shaping future plans"

The vision sets out long term plans to improve homes, renew local centres and green spaces, and make it easier to get around the Valley. It also highlights the importance of community power and resident involvement throughout the programme.

Alongside physical changes, the vision includes commitments to support wellbeing, skills, employment and community leadership.
