Works on Bodmin and Brinsworth Street - August 2026
As part of the Connecting Sheffield: Darnall – Attercliffe – City Centre project, we are improving streets to make them safer, greener and more welcoming for everyone.
The changes aim to support regeneration in the area, safer journeys and sustainable travel for local people, and will give you more choice in how you travel, whether you’re walking, wheeling, cycling or travelling by bus.
Works on Bodmin and Brinsworth Street
As part of the ongoing works on Attercliffe Road, temporary closures will be in place on Bodmin Street and Brinsworth Street at their junctions with Attercliffe Road. The closures are required to safely install paving and kerbing and to carry out associated works at each junction.
As the works progress, Bodmin Street will be closed on, or shortly after, 21 August 2026. The road will reopen once work is completed. Brinsworth Street will then be closed to enable further work. Each junction will be closed for a maximum of two weeks.
Advance notice signing will be placed in the area before the changes come into effect
Access during the works
We understand that access is important for residents, businesses, deliveries and customers.
During the closures:
- Pedestrian access to properties will be maintained, however this may be via an alternative route
- Access arrangements will be managed locally by the site team
Keeping you informed
Advance notice signs will be placed in the area before works start.
We understand these changes may require some adjustment, but they are necessary to ensure work can be carried out safely.
We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we complete these improvements.
