Changes to parking and loading bays on Attercliffe Road’s side streets

The Connecting Sheffield: Darnall - Attercliffe - City Centre project is improving Attercliffe Road to create a more reliable route for buses, provide better facilities for walking, wheeling and cycling, and make it easier for people to travel between Darnall, Attercliffe and the city centre. To achieve this, changes to parking and loading arrangements on Attercliffe Road and its side streets will be made.

The map and table below provide a street-by-street summary of the current and new parking restrictions and loading arrangements that we will introduce as part of the works on Attercliffe Road.

We have designed the changes to:

support access for businesses and deliveries

maintain loading opportunities

improve visibility at junctions, and

keep routes clear for larger vehicles.

What are the changes to parking bays?

We will also provide new 24-hour loading bays on a number of side streets to help businesses continue to receive deliveries once the new restrictions are in place.

What are the changes to parking?

Whilst some on-street parking will remain where space allows, the changes are expected to result in an overall reduction of approximately 40-45 parking spaces across the area. However, parking will continue to be available on selected side streets, in nearby car parks and in locations where restrictions allow.

When are these changes being introduced?

These restrictions, which will be introduced by mid-August 2026, are for information only and illustrate how the area will operate once the future red route is introduced later in the year. The changes are being implemented only on the side streets between Staniforth Road and Worksop Road.
