Coproducing the Local Account
Help us create the annual report for Sheffield adult social care 2022/23
Each year, all local authorities have to produce an annual report on their adult social care services. It’s called the Local Account. Take a look at last year's Local Account.
This year, we want to work with local people to create a report for Sheffield that really counts.
We are looking for up to 10 people with current experience of adult social care to work with us this September as a project team to produce something meaningful which honestly captures how well we’ve done over this past year (2022-23).
We want to transform our Local Account into a more useful resource to help us build on what’s working well and tackle problem areas more effectively.
About this project
Over three two-hour meetings, we'll decide:
What we should call the report so everyone knows what it is
What new content should go in and what should come out
What we should follow up on from last year’s report and what this says about how well we are doing
How the information should be presented.
We'll also work together to get the draft report reviewed by other local community members and include their honest feedback on how well we've done as a service in the final published version.
Meeting dates
Project meetings will take place 10am-12pm in person at a central Sheffield venue on:
- Thursday 7 September
- Thursday 14 September
- Thursday 21 September
The project will also include some reading in between meetings and collecting feedback from other local people, which may take up to four additional hours.
We can pay participants £10 an hour plus expenses for taking part in this project.
Express your interest
This project is open to people currently receiving adult social care support and unpaid carers.
If you would be interested in joining the project group and can attend all the meetings, please contact Kate Damiral, explaining what adult social care support you currently have experience of, email: kate.damiral@sheffield.gov.uk or call: 0114 273 4442 or 07733 308335.
We are looking for project participants with experience of different types of support and we will choose team members so that we have a good mix.
Access and support expenses
We can provide access and support expenses for things like travel or carer cover time, as well as help with alternative formats. Please tell us about the support you need when you express your interest.
