Community Unloved Pockets of Land
This project aims to improve pockets of unkempt land and transform them into well-maintained gardens that can be accessed by all members of the community. The young people involved in our Environmental Stewardship Project, will clear the land with the support of Amey supervisors. The North-East LAC will fund the work in and members of the community will volunteer to maintain the land so that it can remain an enjoyable community garden.
- Lytton Road
This unloved pocket of land is located at the end of Lytton road, near Buchanan road. The site has now been cleared by the environmental stewards, and plans are being finalised for its development. The North-East LAC would like to transform this unloved pocket of land into a lovely community garden with planters, wild flowers, fruit trees and an accessible path.
Unloved pockets of Land
As part of this project, we need your help locating unloved pockets of land that could benefit from being transformed into community gardens.
To use the map, please follow these simple instruction.
1. Locate the relevant location on the map. This can be done either by zooming in and dragging the screen, or by searching for a postcode or location using the search tool in the top right corner of the map.
2. Click the + icon on the left hand side of the screen to reveal the pins.
3. Select the pin.
4. Drag and drop the pin onto the relevant location within the map. If you are using a mobile device you will need to click 'Set the location' in the top right hand corner.
5. A box will pop up which allows you to provide further details, ask questions, and upload photographs.
All information you provide via this map will be visible to other users and therefore we encourage you not to reveal any personal information about yourself or others.
Yo use this map you will either need to provide an email and screen name, or to register to Have Your Say .
Please note that your screen name will be publicly visibly on the map. If you previously registered to Have Your Say and wish to change your screen name, you can do this by selecting the person icon in the top right of your screen, then selecting 'edit profile'.
Once you have added the pin to locate an unloved pocket of land, the North-East LAC will need to identify whether this land belongs to the council before any further actions can be taken.
