A BT payphone

Further to the recent public consultation on BT’s proposed removal of six payphones in Sheffield, BT has now submitted its final decision. For five of the payphones, the telephony and kiosks will be removed as there were no valid reasons for these payphones to be retained. With regard to the payphone at Bolsterstone, again the telephony will be removed but as the kiosk is Listed, the kiosk will remain; there has also been interest expressed in adopting this kiosk for alternative use (i.e. an information hub for walkers and visitors in the area), which the Council supports.
