Your views on housing related support for people experiencing multiple disadvantages

About this survey

This is a survey carried out by Sheffield City Council’s Housing Independence Service about services that provide housing related support to people who experience multiple disadvantages.

People facing multiple disadvantages experience a combination of problems including homelessness, substance misuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental ill health. They fall through the gaps between services and systems, making it harder for them to address their problems and lead fulfilling lives.

We are intending to commission four services that provide support, these are:

  • Floating support for people with drug and alcohol problems, in temporary accommodation or their own homes and at risk of losing their home. Floating support is where the support is separate to your accommodation, even though it helps with it.
  • Dispersed accommodation with support for people who have been in contact with the criminal justice system and experiencing homelessness. Dispersed accommodation is where the support is provided with accommodation across the city.
  • Supported accommodation for abstinent people in recovery from drug and alcohol problems. This is where the support is provided with accommodation all in one building.
  • Outreach to people sleeping rough

We want to know what you think a good service should be like, so that we can continue to improve the way they work for people. We greatly value your input - your answers will help us to understand how these service need to be provided in the future.
