Wraparound Childcare - Primary Special Schools

In 2023, the Government announced a national wraparound childcare programme to enable more parents to work. It aims to ensure that by 2026 all parents and carers of primary school-aged children who need it, will be able to access term time childcare in their local area before and after school (8am-6pm, Monday to Friday).

Costs of childcare may vary, but there is support available through tax free childcare or Universal credit. More information is available at Childcare Choices.

The local authority is working hard to make more wraparound provision available, especially in special schools where there are more barriers to developing this than in mainstream schools. We want to know if there is enough demand to make it possible and what matters most to you when choosing childcare.
