Species Survival Community Fund

South East Local Area Committee (LAC) are kindly distributing community grants on behalf of the “Species Survival Project”. This project is funded by the Government's Species Survival Fund. The fund was developed by Defra and its Arm's-Length Bodies. It is being delivered by The National Lottery Heritage Fund in partnership with Natural England and the Environment Agency. The aim of this Community Fund is to help groups and organisations to deliver nature focused events and projects in the South East of Sheffield. This includes the South East LAC area and also Richmond Ward which falls into the East LAC area.

We have a total funding pot of £15,000 for capital projects and £5,000 for revenue projects.

Applicants are invited to apply for sums of up to £2000 for nature focused capital projects. Examples of the kind of projects this might include are installation of bird and bat boxes, hedge or pond creation, tools, or an interpretation board or signage about wildlife in your area.

Applicants are invited to apply for sums of up to £500 for nature focused revenue projects. This might include funding to deliver a community event or perhaps environmental/ nature-based training for your group/ volunteers.

You can find the application form in the Documents tab on the right hand side of the home page.

Please return the application as soon as possible as funds are being distributed on a first come first served basis. We will inform successful applicants whether they have been successful.
