Recommissioning of Sheffield’s Community Based Domestic Abuse Service
Sheffield’s domestic abuse community based support contract will end in March 2024. Recommissioning needs to start now and Sheffield City Council would like to consult and get the views of the people of Sheffield, both citizens and stakeholders, to make sure that we commission a service that is fit for purpose.
This survey does not relate to the provision of domestic abuse safe accommodation (Women’s Refuge and safe dispersed properties)
The current service delivers,
Support to over 4000 helpline calls per year.
Contacts and offers support to over 3500 police referrals per year.
Carries out one to one case work support to over 3,700 victims/survivors per year.
Structured group recovery programmes for at least 120 people per year.
Home safety measures (enabling victims to stay in their own homes) to over 500 people per year.
Domestic abuse training on domestic abuse to over 1000 professionals per year.
Plus, the current service also provides informal support groups / coffee mornings, a buddy scheme, support to the Sheffield Childrens Safeguarding Hub, administers the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and provides weekly support for victim/survivors of domestic abuse at court.
When making decisions about our services and the city, we need to ensure we seek the views of the people of Sheffield and our stakeholders. Your views are important to us and the consultation on how and what you think the domestic abuse community service should deliver is important.
