This section is about the outline proposals for improvements to the play facilities

The outline proposals are to make some improvements to the existing playground and create a new playground on the adjacent area of grass above.  This will be focused on older children.  See the outline proposals below or open the image in a new window, here:

Play Equipment

  • Large climbing structure

  • Nexus Viper rope swing

  • Large trampoline

  • Metal swing/hang bars

  • Giant Spinning Disc

  • Slacklines

  • 2 bay swingset with basket swing

  • Climbing frame with slide

  • Trim trail

  • Table tennis table

Why is most of the existing equipment remaining?

The majority of existing equipment is still in good working order and still has play value.  The project budget is limited, so to achieve best value for Firth Park, most of this equipment is shown to remain.  This allows us to spend more of the budget on additional equipment rather than replacements.

Why the new playground design is focused on older children:

The new playground will focus on play provision for older children as the existing playground caters for smaller children.

The replacement climbing frame and slide proposed for the existing playground is not included in this prioritisation. Its high priority has already been confirmed by key stakeholders.

How important is it that the playground has a fence all around it?
