This July, we announced the winners of this year's Dignity Awards, chosen by our panel of community judges for going the extra milein supporting people to achieve the outcomes in Sheffield’s Vision for Adult Social Care.
Sheffield Dignity Champions 2023
Our Dignity Champions for 2023 are:
Connected & Engaged Champion: Jo-Anne Van Levesley, from Darnall Well Being, for her work with people living with dementia
Safe & Well Champions (joint nominees): Siobhan Breithuin and Donna Turner, Sheffield City Council's learning and development team, for developing and delivering an introduction to adult social care learning programme for people facing barriers to employment
Efficient & Effective Champion: Christine Anderson, Adults Future Options commissioning, for her work with the local learning disabilities community
Active & Independent Champion: Nicola Stirling, for her coordination of dementia services at Age UK Sheffield
Aspire & Achieve Champion: Natalie Simmonite, apprentice social worker, for her support to someone with learning disabilities and autism, helping them to become more independent.
What are the Dignity Awards?
The Dignity Awards celebrate outstandingexamples of best practice in adult social care and support in Sheffield. The Awards are open to everyonewho works in Sheffield's adult care and wellbeing services including:
Council workers
Workers employed by other organisations delivering adult social care paid for by the Council
People Keeping Well community partners
Voluntary and community organisations working with adults and funded by the Council.
This includes:
workers delivering care and support directly to people
workers behind the scenes, who make sure people get the best quality support.
How the Awards are judged
These annual Awards are judged by local people with current experience of adult social care. You can express your interest in joining next year's judging panel.
