This event was part of the Sheffield Adult Social Care Festival of Involvement.

Safeguarding people is everybody’s business. So how can community members help to make the process work well?

This event was run with members of the Sheffield Adult Safeguarding Partnership Customer Forum to look at how we can all work together to shape local processes and ensure they work well for people in need of support.

The event looked at key things in the Council’s Safeguarding Delivery Plan (2022-2024) to explore where and how local people can contribute.

Opportunities include:

  • helping to develop Sheffield’s newly launched Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hubs (MASH)

  • reviewing the ways we measure what good safeguarding looks like locally

  • advising on the best way to share information with the community about how well local safeguarding processes are working.

Ideas from this discussion will be fed into the Plan and also help to shape a new approach to involving people in improving adult social care, known as the citizens involvement project.
