Overnight works on Arundel Gate - 24 April 2026

As part of the work we are doing on Arundel Gate, we need to resurface a section of the road to improve its quality.

To minimise disruption to bus services during the day, we will do this work overnight on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 April from 12am to 5am. We aim to complete the work in the early hours of Wednesday 29 April.

So our teams can work safely, we will need to close Arundel Gate between Norfolk Street and Charles Street. Our contractor will provide escorted access to homes and businesses, but otherwise a diversion will be in place during the work.

The diversion route for traffic travelling towards Furnival Gate will be:

  • past the station via Sheaf Street
  • Suffolk Road
  • St Mary’s Road
  • Eyre Street

Traffic travelling towards Castle Square will need to use:

  • Eyre Street
  • St Mary’s Road
  • Shoreham Street
  • past the station via Sheaf Street to Park Square roundabout
