Division Street - Enforcement camera and upcoming improvements

We are introducing camera enforcement to improve safety and make sure the pedestrianised area on Division Street works for everyone.

We have installed a camera so we can enforce existing restrictions as compliance is low in this area.

The camera will not be active immediately, as we will soon be consulting on minor changes to signage and Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) in the area.

We will share more information on this website for the proposed improvements we are planning to make to the pedestrian and cycle zone which include:

• raising the outdoor seating areas to pavement level
• signage changes and
• additional loading areas for businesses.

We expect to begin the formal consultation on these changes on Thursday 22 October 2026.
