Sheffield City Council's Parks and Countryside Service are planning improvements to Concord Park in order to raise the overall quality of the site, encourage increased use, and enable more people to access the health and wellbeing benefits of using our parks and greenspaces.
This Have Your Say Sheffield page is intended to be a space for sharing information and engaging with the local community about the development of the improvement(s) including updates, designs, plans, and consultation.
The News Feed will provide updates on the improvement project and general items about the park
The initial focus of the improvements will be to develop and deliver the priorities identified in the consultation undertaken at the end of 2022 - the results of which can be found here.
A follow up consultation in the summer of 2024 asked the local community what they would want from an 'All Wheels Park' in Concord Park to allow us to plan and design a facility which best meets the need of the local community - the results of which can be found here
In early 2025 the North East Local Area Committee has worked with Parks and Countryside and other services conducted further engagement with the local community to prioritise the spending of the £100K Public Health funds which are currently allocated to the site and to shape future improvement plans and funding opportunities for the green space. This consultation further supported the development of an 'All Wheels Park'.
Working in partnership with Access Sport and local stakeholders including the Friends of Concord Park and Woolley Woods and Ward Councillors a proposal for an all-wheels facility at Concord Park has now been developed.

Over the last few years consultation undertaken by the Parks & Countryside Service, the Friends of Concord Park and Wooley Woods, and the NE Local Area Committee has shown support for an 'all-wheels' facility at Concord Park (details of the previous engagement activities can be found here Concord Park | Have Your Say Sheffield)
Working in partnership with Access Sport and local stakeholders including the Friends of Concord Park and Woolley Woods and Ward Councillors a proposal for an all-wheels facility at Concord Park has now been developed.
The design for the all-wheels facility in Concord Park involves a new all-wheel tarmacked pump track, a beginners track, a new club storage facility and club area, with the possibility of a multi-function area for learning to ride, accessible bikes and other wheeled sports equipment. The all-wheels track would be built on the location of the disused bowling greens, between the playground and the multi-use games area. Other improvements would include; better path connections, seating, park infrastructure, lighting, biodiversity enhancements, and drainage works.
If you want to see a local example on an all-wheels park please visit Hillsborough Pump Track, located at: Hillsborough Park, Penistone Rd, Sheffield S6 2AF: Hillsborough Park Pump Track - Google Maps
We asked people what they would want from an 'All Wheels Park' in Concord Park so we can begin to plan and design a facility which best meets the need of the local community.
What do we mean by an 'All Wheels Park'...?
An all wheel park is designed to be be used by variety of (non-motored!) wheeled sports such as bicycles, skateboards, scooters, roller skaters, and inline skaters. The facilities usually take the form of a skatepark, pump track, or combination of both with a variety of jumps, berms, banks, and features which create an active, inclusive and fun environment for wheeled sports user of all ages, all genders and abilities (for example images see below).

Next Steps:
The survey results will help inform the development and design of an all wheels park. The preferences of respondents will be used to prioritise the features of the facility and guide what's able to be constructed on site with the available project budget.
As a follow up to engagement which has taken place in recent years, the North East Local Area Committee has worked with Parks and Countryside and other services to develop a plan for Concord Park which includes current facilities and ideas for new facilities which aim to create a green space that has something for everyone to enjoy.
With Concord Sports Centre due to be rebuilt in 2027, your current views will also help us to ensure the new sports centre and surrounding green space and outdoor facilities are better linked.
Your thoughts will help us prioritise the spending of the £100K Public Health funds which are currently allocated to the site and to shape future improvement plans and funding opportunities for the green space.
We want to make sure that as many people as possible have had the chance to tell us how they would like to see Concord Park and Woolley Woods improved. Please tell us what you think in the following questionnaire. Please note that the survey will close on Sunday 23rd February.
We carried out consultation at the back end of 2022 to identify what were the priority improvements for Concord Park. The online survey was hosted on Sheffield City Council's former online survey platform Citizen Space.
The online survey activity ran on Citizen Space from: 25/10/2022 to 07/12/2022
