Have Your Say on the Community Meeting Rooms in Sheffield Libraries

Last year, we asked for your views on how to improve our library community meeting rooms. The information you provided helped us secure funding from the Arts Council England Library Improvement Fund.

This funding will support improvements, decoration and new equipment for the community meeting rooms in the following libraries:

• Chapeltown
• Darnall
• Ecclesall
• Firth Park
• Manor

Before we make these improvements and buy new equipment, we want to make sure the rooms are as accessible as possible and do not create any new barriers. We would particularly like to hear from, but are not limited to:

• Current users of library meeting rooms
• Older people
• People living with dementia
• Neurodivergent people
• People with physical accessibility needs
• Blind and partially sighted people
• Deaf people and people with hearing loss
• People who need translation or interpreting support
• Local businesses

Once the survey closes, we will review all responses, and the results will be available on our website and shared through our usual communication channels so everyone can see the outcome of the consultation.

How to take part

To complete the survey, click on the survey called "Access and Communication Needs in Library Meeting Rooms".

The survey takes around 20 minutes to complete for each library. You do not need to answer every question or provide feedback on every library. Please only answer the questions that are relevant to you.

The survey also includes optional equality monitoring questions.

This survey will be open until Wednesday 30th September.

Consultation visits

You may prefer to attend one of our consultation visits at the libraries. Places will be limited and booking is required.
